As a proud member of the board of the League for Innovation in the Community College, Sinclair serves as a leader in catalyzing the community college movement and is on the move to be bigger and better.
Sinclair remains the Southwest Ohio Region's primary choice for college education having awarded more degrees and certificates than any other Ohio Community College over the last 5 years (Source: Ohio Board of Regents).
Sinclair is taking a national leadership role in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) education and training. As the first community college with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved air space for flying drones, Sinclair plans to drive accreditation standards and national certifications as an industry leader.
Sinclair has been on the forefront of the national reform movement to improve student success for more than 10 years. With grant assistance from organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Mathile Family Foundation, the Department of Education, and more, Sinclair has implemented innovations in areas such as how students achieve college readiness and how to plan a course of study. In the next generation of student support, Sinclair will provide an even smoother journey from the first step onto campus.
Sinclair’s Health Sciences Division is among the nation’s largest and oldest community college programs, supporting 11 academic departments, 285 faculty and staff and 15 specialized credentials. Success has been maintained by continuing to listen to employers and the communities they serve. Today, patients are demanding coordinated care and professionals trained in multiple disciplines. Sinclair’s Health Sciences Center responds to these changes.
Each year at Sinclair’s commencement, President Steven Johnson leads an extra round of applause for a small group of graduates who are achieving a high school diploma and an associate’s degree at the same time. With the goal of preparing more students for this level of success, College Credit Plus is a new system in the state of Ohio that enables students to pursue high school and college credit simultaneously. With many years of dual enrollment experience already, area school districts and their students can be confident in Sinclair’s commitment to this new state-wide program.

Sinclair was founded in Dayton 128 years ago and is on track to be in operation for at least another 128 years. We will do what it takes to ensure our ability to grow and thrive into the future.
